# Is There a CRM That Updates Itself From Your Gmail Conversations?

Yes: HubSpot, Streak, folk, Attio and Pipedrive all sync with Gmail and log your conversations for you. What each one does, what it costs as of 2026-10-01, and the access it needs to your mailbox.

Yes. HubSpot, Streak, folk, Attio and Pipedrive all connect to Gmail and fill in your contacts, conversation history and deal activity without you typing it in, and folk will also tell you when a thread has gone quiet and draft the follow-up. The catch is the same for all of them: to update from your conversations, the CRM needs read access to your mailbox.

If you want a CRM, pick from the list below. If you only want the "remind me to follow up" part, or you would rather not hand a tool your inbox, skip to [when you do not need a CRM at all](#when-you-only-need-the-follow-up).

All prices and features below were checked on each vendor's own site on 2026-10-01. They change often, so confirm before you buy.

## HubSpot

HubSpot's email integration lets you "log emails, replies, and contact info" from your personal inbox into its CRM, and HubSpot states that the email integration is available for free. The same page lists email open tracking, templates and automated sequences.

It is the most common answer to this question for a reason: there is a free plan and the logging works. It is also a large product, and if all you wanted was a reminder to chase someone, you will spend more time configuring it than following up. We compared it in more detail in [autoremind.ai vs HubSpot Sequences](/blog/autoremind-vs-hubspot-sequences).

## Streak

Streak is a CRM built into Gmail rather than bolted onto it. Its pricing page lists "Automatic Email Sharing" (a complete email history for every deal, contact and company, shared with your team), "magic fields" that update on their own with things like last reply and time in stage, and an AI autofill that scans deal history to update the CRM.

Tasks and reminders are included on every paid plan. Pro is $49 per user per month billed annually or $59 monthly, Pro+ is $69 or $89, and Enterprise is $129 or $159. There is a free tier, but Streak says it covers email tools such as tracking and mail merge and does not include CRM pipelines.

## folk

folk is the closest match for the more specific question, "is there a CRM that can find deals in email conversations and remind me to follow up?"

Its Follow-up Assistant analyses your connected inbox, calendar and WhatsApp conversations and notifies you when a conversation has gone quiet with a pending next step. You get a suggestion with a drafted reply. Two details from folk's own help centre matter:

- It only looks at threads with at least two exchanges in the past two months (one from you, one from the contact).
- It suggests follow-ups. You still open the draft and send it yourself.

Email, calendar and WhatsApp sync and the Follow-up Assistant are listed on every plan. Standard is $24 per member per month billed annually or $30 monthly, Premium is $48 or $60, and Enterprise starts at $80 or $100.

## Attio

Attio says connecting email and calendar is optional but recommended, and that once you sync them it builds a real-time database of all your contacts. There is a free plan, Plus is $35 per user per month billed annually or $44 monthly, and Pro is $79 or $99. Its AI features (Ask Attio and AI agents) are listed on all plans.

Attio suits people who want a flexible, modern CRM and are happy to set up their own views. It does not market a follow-up assistant in the way folk does.

## Pipedrive

Pipedrive's Growth plan adds "full email sync with tracking" for Gmail, Outlook or company email, plus automations and sequences of follow-up emails. Pipedrive's help centre confirms email sync is only on Growth and higher. As of 2026-10-01 the pricing page lists Growth at US$24 per seat per month billed annually, with Lite at US$14 (no email sync), Premium at US$49 and Ultimate at US$69.

It is a good fit if you think in pipelines and stages and want the CRM to be the place you send from.

## What all of these have in common: they read your mailbox

A CRM that updates itself from your conversations has to see those conversations. That is how the logging works, and it is not a flaw in any of these products. It is worth being clear about what you are granting, though.

On Google, permission to read mail is a restricted scope. It covers the whole mailbox, not just the threads with prospects: every client email, every invoice, every personal message that happens to land in that account. Vendors that hold it go through Google's verification and an annual security assessment. We wrote up what that permission actually covers in [why follow-up automation should not need access to your inbox](/blog/follow-up-automation-without-inbox-access).

For a sales team that wants a shared record of every conversation, that trade is usually worth it. For a freelancer or founder who just keeps forgetting to chase people, it can be more access than the job needs.

## When you only need the follow-up

A lot of people searching for "a CRM that updates itself from Gmail" do not actually want a CRM. They want two things:

1. Not to forget the person who went quiet.
2. Not to write the third "just checking in" email by hand.

You do not need a CRM, or inbox access, for either of those. This is the part autoremind.ai does:

- You write one sentence, for example "chase Sam about the proposal I sent Tuesday."
- autoremind.ai writes the follow-ups and sends them from your own Gmail, in the original thread, escalating the tone from professional to firm to urgent if there is no answer. At most 4 messages per reminder.
- When the person replies, it stops. It detects the reply without reading your inbox: each follow-up puts a tracked address in the reply path, so the reply still reaches you in the same thread and autoremind.ai learns that someone answered.

What it does not do: it does not scan your inbox to find deals for you, and it does not keep a contact database. You decide who to chase. That is the trade for not handing over read access.

It also works in Slack for internal chases, like an approval that has been sitting for a week. It does not support Outlook or Microsoft Teams today.

The free plan gives you 3 live reminders with no card, and Starter is $4 a month for 10. If you want to compare other ways of doing this in Gmail without a CRM, including Gmail's own Snooze and Nudges, see [how to automate follow-ups in Gmail without a CRM](/blog/how-to-automate-follow-ups-gmail-without-crm).

## Which one should you pick?

- **You want a shared record of every customer conversation:** a CRM. HubSpot or Attio if you want to start free, Streak if you want to stay inside Gmail, Pipedrive if you think in pipelines.
- **You want the CRM to tell you who to chase:** folk's Follow-up Assistant is built for exactly that, as long as you are fine with it reading your email.
- **You know who you need to chase and just want it to happen:** you do not need a CRM. [Set up a follow-up in autoremind.ai](/) and let it send the reminders and stop when they reply.
